Admissions Daniel was admitted to practice in Washington in 1983, and has also been admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Daniel has been selected a Super Lawyer by his peers in the annual survey conducted by Washington Law & Politics (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009). Professional and Community Involvement Daniel served as managing partner of the firm from 1995-1997. He served as a member of the Seattle Ethics and Elections Commission from 1995-2000, and served as the Commission's Vice-Chair in 1996 and its Chair in 1997 and 1998. He currently serves as President and is a member on the Board of Directors of Seattle Kendo Kai, the oldest kendo dojo in the Pacific Northwest, and holds the rank of Yondan (4th degree blackbelt). Daniel also serves on the Board of Directors of the Pacific Northwest Kendo Federation. Daniel's blank verse play, Weeds, played to sold-out audiences at the Seattle Fringe Festival (March 2000), and he's trying to find time to work on his second play (working title, Young Men, Old Men). He loves acting and dance, and appeared in Aono Jikken's production of Komori-uta (On the Boards, 2002); Freehold Studio Series (2003 and 2004) Edge Theatre Ensemble's production of Antigone (Seattle Fringe Festival, September 2003). He also appeared as a gangster and defense attorney in the Capitol Hill Arts Center's production of the Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (August 2004), and in Freehold Theatre's production of The Winter's Tale (July 2005). |
