- When our client notified us that they had discovered moisture in the walls of their three year old school building, we knew their probable issues extended far beyond persuading their contractor to fix the entry points for water. We retained expert consultants to assess the scope of the problem and discovered that large volumes of water were becoming trapped in the wall cavities because of errors in design and construction. Sections of the wood structure were rotting and mold was spreading quickly. With 600 K-12 students and dozens of teachers and staff on campus, their safety had to be our first priority as we worked to repair the building and secure a recovery from those responsible for the damage. Within 18 months from discovering the problem, the mold was eliminated, the roof and structure of the building were repaired, the siding on the campus was replaced, and our client had recovered the full cost of the work from responsible parties. Most satisfying, there was 100% safety on the project, without complaint from students, parents, or staff related to the mold or repair work.
